some people already know by the age of 7 what they want to become? a pilot or a nurse ; however, it gets more difficult deciding what they want to do with their future. people who decided to go to a university or a college have to make an important choice: what major are they going into ? for many people this is a very difficult question
As the statistics show, one out of five students change their major between admission and the first day of classes. Nearly 3 out of 4 change their major twice before the graduate. These results made me wonder, Is it really necessary to choose a major? what influence has the choice of a specific major on students and their education ? what are the opportunities for the future ?

Is it necessary to choose a major ?
Before you start to think about a major you may ask your self why would you choose a major ? well , choosing a major is required in the university.

Every college will ask you what major would you like to study ?
Each major has a requirements : number of courses, electives and examination.

what you learn may change your goals and expectations and any of these changes can lead you to change your major.

What influence has the choice of a specific major on students and their education?
I think that activities can have influence on your major and career, For Example: an economies major gets involved in drama and goes into arts management . Another example: a student may major in political science but his activity at the campus radio station that may lead to a career in broadcasting.
So, Your major and career may be very influenced by your college experience.
And the exploration of areas in both requirements and voluntary activities will lead to new interests , develop new skills which can help you select your major and do well in it.
