Throughout the book The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time there were many ups and downs. Christopher and his father went through a lot, but Christopher's father is very loving. Throughout the book Christopher seemed very intimidated and afraid of his father. Christopher said “I had to get out of the house. Father had murdered Wellington. That meant he could murder me, because I couldn't trust him, even though he had said “Trust me,” because he had told a lie about a big thing”(Haddon 122). This quote shows that he is very scared of his father and Christopher does not feel safe being in the same house of his father. As a result of that it causes Christopher to run away from home. There are so many examples, but one other one is when they all meet up and all saw each other. Christopher was still scared to even see him. Christopher said “And then I heard someone opening the door of the flat and there was a strange man’s voice outside, so I locked the bathroom door. And there was a argument outside and a man said “ I need to speak to him,” and mother said “He's been through enough today already,” father said “ I know. But I still need to speak to him” (Haddon 194). This is important because he locked the door and stayed in the bathroom when his parents were outside.
