Their genes could be perfect but they could be an appalling and nasty parent. Eugenics would be used to filter genetic disease out of society but what would happen to the people carrying these diseases, will society have to come together to stop them from reproducing? People who are healthy, intelligent and physically fit will reproduce, but what happens if they lack the compassion and understanding that every parent needs. Eugenics is meant essentially to better the human race. What traits are holding back the human race? Of course, Eugenics is to be used to get rid of genetic diseases, but there is no stopping people from getting rid of other traits. Using Eugenics, society could create an ideal look for people, and influence people to look a certain way. This was the Nazi way of thinking. Hitler was trying to better his country and get rid of the people he considered to be useless and inferior to the Aryan Race. If Eugenics is openly practiced, humans will start moving backwards and bring back years of discrimination with them. In The Chrysalids, the southern tribes think they are the “true image” of God and the people in Waknuk think they are the true image. Waknuk people commonly kill or banish people who did not fit into their idea of the perfect person. Similar horrors will unleash if Eugenics is imposed on the public. If a superior race was intended to be created, negative and positive traits would have to be decided. The idea of which traits are negative and which are positive differ from person to person.
