Cinco canciones populares argentinas (1953) by Alberto Ginastera consisted of five short songs. The first song, Chacarera, was a fast paced, happy, and upbeat piece where the performer went back and forth between singing fast to slow, but the piano keeps a mostly constant pace. The second piece of the bunch was titled Triste. This song consisted of slow and not so happy sounding sounds. There was a piano solo in the beginning, while the soloist matched the sounds with a serious face. For the most part, the song was sad sounding, but for a split second about halfway through the piece. The third song is called Zamba; this serious piece continued the love song theme.
