“Right?” Drizella grumbled
“Girls, girls calm down… wait, she is a disgrace isn’t she?” my mother Iris confirmed.
I took a sip of my lemon tea and screeched “OUCH... CINDERELLA!!!”
Cinderella stepped into the room, “Yes?”
“Get me some ice for my mouth, you made my tea scorching!!!” I screamed.
“Yes ma’am.” Cinderella cowered.
Ugh, she’s such a little wimp I thought.
Later that beautiful spring day, a knock disturbed my reading, I closed my book and staggered down the stairs to see mother at the door talking to a plump, rosy cheeked man, he handed her an envelope sealed with a wax stamp.
Mother shut the door softly and held the letter in front of her squinted face.

“WE’VE BEEN INVITED TO THE ROYAL BALL, SO THE PRICE MAY CHOOSE HIS BRIDE!!!” Drizella shrieked “Oh my god!”
I looked over at mother in disbelief, but something caught my eye behind her… it was Cinderella eavesdropping, I ignored her… but Drizella didn’t.
“Mother, Cinderella was snooping around , and she’s not cleaning my bathroom floor!” Drizella screamed in her high pitched voice.
Mother jerked her head in Cinderella’s direction and gave her a dirty look and yelled, ‘’You shall not go to the ball!” A sly smile grew across Drizella’s face.

Drizella got up, walked up to Cinderella and said inches from her face “if you ever talk to me like that ever again, i will make sure you regret it… Now…”
She turned around and walked over to her desk and pulled a long piece of paper out of a drawer and said “Here this ought to keep you busy during the ball… Have fun.”
I looked at the piece of paper in Cinderella’s thin hand and it was a long, long list of chores, I have to say I kind of felt bad… I said kind of.
Cinderella shifted toward the door, she turned around and smiled at me… a shy smile.
That night when mother and Drizella were sleeping, I crept out of my room and slithered across the kitchen floor towards the stairs that led to Cinderella’s bedroom, I don't know why, i just felt the need to see her. I climbed the stairs very quietly, fearing my mother’s wrath. As I approached the bulky, dark door, a light shot out of the crack under the door. CINDERELLA WAS AWAKE, YES! I knocked on the door softly and then I
