One of Clark’s main problems was his crazy, whacky family. First of all his and his wife’s parents don’t get along at all. They’re arguing all the time. Uncle Eddie and his wife and two kids sudden show up and don’t help the situation at all. Then Aunt Bethany who is very …show more content…
old and doesn’t know what’s going on one hundred percent of the time, and her husband so up. Things are just not going well in the Griswold household.
Clarks boss, Frank, is a pure pain in the rear end, if you know what I mean.
Clarks worked for him for 17 years and has giving the company some great ideas and products but has never gotten any recognition. The only time of the year Clark appreciates his job is Christmas time. When he gets his Christmas bonus check. This year he was going to surprise his family by spending the Christmas bonus check on a swimming pool. The night before Christmas he receives a letter from the company messenger and Clark thinks it’s the bonus, so he dashes into the living telling the family about the pool. When he opens it says “ sorry he have cut bonus’s for finical purposes but here’s a gift certificate for the jelly of the month club”. Of course while everyone is down and sad crazy uncle Eddie has to come in and say, “ Clark that’s the gift that keeps on giving. “ Then Clark screams out, “ Hey! If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Frank Shirley, my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged,
spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?”
You think it cant get any worse? Well, it does. Crazy uncle Eddie of course goes and gets Clarks boss, Frank to bring him a gift because he’s not all there. So Clark and his family start to talk to Frank and he realizes how much he’s hurting these families by cutting Christmas bonuses. He gives Clark his bonus plus he doubled it! All these problems Clark went though ended up coming back and paying off in a big way.
Clark Griswold is a simple family man who was just trying to give his family a perfect Christmas. I think Clark Griswold found that out the hard way. At the end of all that happened his family really saw how hard he was trying to give them the perfect Christmas.
