Class Intro 350 Words
Hello to all, my name is Judith Solis. I am a Nutrition Science major attending College of the Canyons for the first time. I am a full time student and this is the first online course I will be taking. I am enrolled in this English 101 class to complete part of my transfer requirements, as I would like to transfer to a four-year university as soon as possible. If I could afford to be a student for life that’s exactly what I would like to do. I would like to transfer, preferably, to UCLA and further pursue my education there. Although I have always placed advanced in English, I have never really enjoyed any of the English courses I’ve taken. No aspects of it have really jumped out at me to grab my attention, but I guess some things just come naturally (No matter how boring the subject). What I do aspire to be is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist. To be honest the only reason I am majoring in Nutritional Science is to become a part time Dietitian and part time student. Like I said I enjoy school and hopefully will be able to endure many more years of it, I will have to if I wish to achieve my goals. But something I will not enjoy is having debt from medical school loans, so becoming a Dietitian is part of my education plan. As a Dietitian I will make more than enough of a salary to support myself as well as continue my education. I will admit I have made mistakes when it came to my education in the past like putting it on hold for a year, I have been set back a couple of semesters, but now that colleges are offering summer intersession again I will be transferring sooner than I thought. Right now all I do and think about is my education, everything I do revolves around it, and I am so excited to begin this semester. I am 21 and I’ve got a long road ahead of me, I hope this class helps me pave this road to an educated and professional being in the future. I look forward to work with you all in this online

I would think that have to choose MySQL would be the best fit for Wild Wood Apartments. It may run higher in query testing but the overall processes and structure would work better for a small to medium size company. It meets all the requirements that the Wild Wood Apartments has for operating systems, table and row size, Much of MySQL's appeal originates in its relative simplicity and ease of use. This will be necessary for people who are not use to using this type of system.…

The commercial is about 3 minutes long and it is just Jerry Seinfeld trying to persuade a ordinary man with money, aliens, ziplines, and speed boats to give him the new Acura NSX and at the end when Jerry was about to get the car Jay Leno flies in with a jetpack and persuades the man to give him the car and he ends up flying away with the man and the car keys. The commercial uses the three source characteristics: source credibility, source attractiveness, and source power, along with positive message characteristics like humor, a strong narrative, and attention- getting features like salience to cultivate the views of the audience so that they will buy the new Acura NSX.…

Over the years, racial stereotypes have evolved from being offensive preconceptions regarding race to be humorous generalizations. They now serve as a source of entertainment in movies, TV shows, and other forms of media. By presenting these stereotypes as entertaining elements in popular media they shed light on real racial problems in our society today in an unaggressive manner. In Guess Who (2005) Percy Jones and Simon Green’s dysfunctional relationship is used to identify the underlying racial tensions between African American’s and Caucasians, including the issues about employment, physical characteristics, and lifestyle choices; Simultaneously, director Kevin Sullivan sends the message that the issues presented in the movie are not specific to one race, but rather to our society as a whole.…

Nomads were wanderers that had no technical home. Four groups of nomads were the Turks, Afghan and Seljuk, the Vikings, the Mongols, and the Huns. When the Mongols went to Europe, they brought the Bubonic Plague; they caused the reunification of the Russians, and helped start Pax Mongolica. They allowed the conquered to keep their ways of life and religions as long as they obeyed the foreign rulers. The decentralization of Japan and Western Europe was helpful and a hindrance by being more organized, using feudalism and causing more chaos.…

The article “Red Flags Before Santa Monica Shooting, But Pointing Fingers is Hard”, by Gloria Goodale states the need to raise awareness in schools, workplaces, and families and teach people to identify red-flag behaviors. Such signs can include a change in behavior, an interest in violent weapons, strange writing, feeling hopeless and the desire to hurt someone. People can be trained recognized behavior before incidents happen, but there are challenges, because it could discriminate against people with mental health problems. The article “Colleges Are Watching Troubled Students”, by Jeffrey McMurray, mentions how many colleges and universities began monitoring and sharing information about troubled students after the Virginia Tech shootings, to prevent crime and violence on school campuses. School officials created a “watch list” of troubled students and decided whether they needed professional help or if they should just kick them out of school. Both articles are similar because if “red flag” behaviors were spotted early on it could prevent those students from harming themselves and others.…

Throughout those three years, I have gained knowledge about medical terminology, various types of medical careers, and participated in many community service activities. While learning about the different health professions, I found my own passion to want to become a clinical dietitian. I have always been intrigued by promoting health and wellness. During days I would be free, I would research the web for information about gluten free-foods, vegan…
