It may run higher in query testing but the overall processes and structure would work better for a small to medium size company. It meets all the requirements that the Wild Wood Apartments has for operating systems, table and row size, Much of MySQL's appeal originates in its relative simplicity and ease of use. This will be necessary for people who are not use to using this type of system.…

Over the years, racial stereotypes have evolved from being offensive preconceptions regarding race to be humorous generalizations. They now serve as a source of entertainment in movies, TV shows, and other forms of media. By presenting these stereotypes as entertaining elements in popular media they shed light on real racial problems in our society today in an unaggressive manner. In Guess Who (2005) Percy Jones and Simon Green’s dysfunctional relationship is used to identify the underlying racial tensions between African American’s and Caucasians, including the issues about employment, physical characteristics, and lifestyle choices; Simultaneously, director Kevin Sullivan sends the message that the issues presented in the movie are not specific to one race, but rather to our society as a whole.…
When I think back into a time in my life when I felt like an outsider not many events come to mind. One in particular does rein clearer than the others though. Nomads were wanderers that had no technical home. Four groups of nomads were the Turks, Afghan and Seljuk, the Vikings, the Mongols, and the Huns. When the Mongols went to Europe, they brought the Bubonic Plague; they caused the reunification of the Russians, and helped start Pax Mongolica. They allowed the conquered to keep their ways of life and religions as long as they obeyed the foreign rulers. The decentralization of Japan and Western Europe was helpful and a hindrance by being more organized, using feudalism and causing more chaos.…

The article “Red Flags Before Santa Monica Shooting, But Pointing Fingers is Hard”, by Gloria Goodale states the need to raise awareness in schools, workplaces, and families and teach people to identify red-flag behaviors. Such signs can include a change in behavior, an interest in violent weapons, strange writing, feeling hopeless and the desire to hurt someone. People can be trained recognized behavior before incidents happen, but there are challenges, because it could discriminate against people with mental health problems. The article “Colleges Are Watching Troubled Students”, by Jeffrey McMurray, mentions how many colleges and universities began monitoring and sharing information about troubled students after the Virginia Tech shootings, to prevent crime and violence on school campuses. School officials created a “watch list” of troubled students and decided whether they needed professional help or if they should just kick them out of school. Both articles are similar because if “red flag” behaviors were spotted early on it could prevent those students from harming themselves and others.…
One of my electives that I had chosen to pursue for three years of my high school career was the health services program. Throughout those three years, I have gained knowledge about medical terminology, various types of medical careers, and participated in many community service activities. While learning about the different health professions, I found my own passion to want to become a clinical dietitian. I have always been intrigued by promoting health and wellness. During days I would be free, I would research the web for information about gluten free-foods, vegan…
I would like to contribute to the 96 percent success rate of interns who passed on the first try at the UVA Health System dietetic internship. I want to acquire the necessary skills and professional behaviors to become an entry-level dietitian and this dietetic internship would provide me with the techniques and tools to get me there. In the future I would like to become a board certified specialist in either nutrition support or pediatrics. Being an intern at UVA health systems would present me with the opportunities to explore different specialties of nutrition by learning from well-respected experts to help me determine which area I am most passionate about. Getting the opportunity to participate in unique rotations such as transplant, PICU and nutrition support emergency/medicine will give me an advantage in the future to learn what specialty suits me the…
