Cleofilas Struggle With Domestic Violence

After discussing about this in class, Cleofilas is a woman who struggles with domestic violence because of her husband. I felt like if she was more opened up to her friends she met she could’ve gotten help. She isn’t aware of how to control situations when it comes to violence because she’s afraid of him. Her childhood is one of the reason why she isn’t aware how to face situations because she grew up being the only girl. Also she her parents never had violence towards her so this is one of the reasons why she’s like this. I believe that Cleofilas is suffering with her life because she’s so sad and heartbroken. I feel like he used her because he wanted to get married so fast when she wasn’t sure how come. Her husband is a guy that I would never
like to be around. Juan is a guy who doesn’t do anything right to her besides violent and cheating. Thoughts occurred to my mind why he has done violence to her. He had really bad temper too which made me concerned why he took it on her when she had nothing to do with it. Even though he cheated he should’ve told her the truth instead of her finding it out. It’s devastating to see this happen because she knows he isn’t a good man but she forces herself to continue caring for him. It got me anxious why Cleofilas didn’t defend herself. No one doesn’t have the right to hit a woman, womans have strong feelings and the capacity to remember it. These types of violence affects people it makes some people afraid of others and in need of help. For me, it’s difficult to see people going through this stage because they think there will never be an end to it but there’s always a cure for any situations. Juan is not only bringing violence but he’s bringing so much negativity towards her and their child. It’s crazy how he doesn’t care about his child, to me this is sad because the child will grow up knowing his dad doesn’t care. No child likes to grow up without a father and feel different because kids are happy with their dads. The creek was the only way she went to clear her mind because she feels in peace. It wasn’t a right choice for her to go their because of bad luck. When I was reading this I really wanted to know what was she thinking about not being with her family anymore and what she thought about Juan.
She is a woman who isolates herself from her community with other because she doesn’t speak english. She isn’t from this country she’s an immigrant who doesn’t really know much yet and has trouble understanding people. I wish Cleofilas had left her husband, she would’ve been in a better happy place. I just didn’t like how she compared herself to shows because the problems that she watches affects her. It affects her because she has ways of imagining and proving that it relates to her situations. Her child is a way of making her happy in her life, she cares about her child and wants the best for it. I don’t like to see a woman like this cry so much in tears because of the way they’re struggling each day. She had bruises all over her body while being pregnant which is so heartbreaking to think about. Domestic violence still exists at this generation, there’s need to be a stop for this. People who are victims of violence should indeed have ways into getting help. People will succeed and there life will change once getting help. It’s a way to change yourself in a happier way and the society as
well.
