In my opinion, an individual who chooses to move from the only culture they’ve ever known to somewhere foreign, instantly shows independence and self-reliance which goes against everything collectivist stand for. This immediately forced me to believe that Clozee’s first cultural pattern would be considered individualistic; independence rather than interdependence is stressed. She never mentioned her goal to be followed by groups; ultimately, it was just about following a dream forcing her to be the most important unit with less of an ego. There were many statements made regarding equality and opportunity for all followers of music. Because she viewed downloading music an action that should be open to all, I would conquer that she would not agree with hierarchal views of inequality being accepted. Therefore, her egalitarian views instantly show in the video due to her paying for her music to be free to her followers. I’m unsure what prior history she has with traveling, however, the website claims she travels all over to play her music. And let’s not forget that she originated from France; which is very different than California. Therefore, one could assume that her cultural diversity identifies as low-uncertainty. At one point in the video she began talking about the people she associates herself with, “they are nice, open-minded, I love them.” If Clozee showed high-uncertainty patterns, she would not travel often because she would find it very disruptive to her life and would be unwelcoming to different cultures. Identifying whether Clozee would be considered monochronic or polychronic; I cannot think back to something specifically that got mentioned to identify this. Although, considering her profession requires music shows, one would assume that a schedule would be arranged to perform accordingly.
