The coke and mentos experiment is investigation of the chemical change and understanding the way substances and gases work, the experiment shows the way mentos( a hard candy) reacts with coke(soft drink), and creates a mild explosion .
It is basically the process of bubbles that are called nucleation, it is when substances form on their own to make a reaction, carbon dioxide make up the bubbles, nucleation is not very explosive when tested with mentos, the reaction is made because mentos have little openings on the surface that enables the carbon dioxide to seep in to creat a minor explosion.
The experiment is used in the real world as it imitates what a situation of carbon dioxide, nucleation and how it would react to substances.
It helps make roads, transportations and factories run .
the disadvantages of these effects are, it release high amounts of carbon in the atmosphere which interacts with the health and growth of vegetations, humans, and animals and it also increases global warming and it is a threat to the ozone layer as it releases a mild toxic carbon gas.
The advantages of this, is it helps combat fire and makes roads, run factories and is convenient for transportation and it has very dense energy and stays for a long time
Aim:
The purpose of this investigation is testing neauliation,
What will bet the reaction of the geyser experiment?
Hypothesis:
The more mentos added to the coke the bigger the explsion and rection will be.
