Coming Out Research Paper
Throughout history, many individuals have struggled with finally coming out as an individual of the LGBTQ+ community. A lot of these individuals were scared of being discriminated against or not accepted. Also, many LGBTQ+ individuals face discrimination and hatred almost every single day. These individuals are at a high risk of having depression, stress, anxiety, and suicidal behavior. Coming out to love ones is very difficult because you want their acceptance and approval. However, some love ones will not accept the fact of that “who you are!” So, therefore this passage will be based of the interview I had with my cousin, Ryan. While interviewing Ryan, we talked about his coming out process; there were a lot of heart-aching moments that brought tears to my eyes. He explained that over several years, he would debate rather he would come out or not because he was afraid others would not accept him. Our family is a huge Christian family, and we were taught no human being should lay with the same sex. Therefore, The coming out process is very difficult when you are brought up in a stern Christian home. However, when he first told me he was gay, I was so happy for him because he could finally be himself. Although, our family was very stern on this belief, they accepted him. So, even though our family accepted him society did not.

Issues such as lack of proper education, dead-end minimum wage jobs, unsanitary living conditions, and unfair labor practices can have a detrimental impact on the health condition of individuals in a community. Newcomers or recent immigrants in Canada do not always get the job that they desire and many end up doing odd jobs barely able to meet basic needs. In that case proper health and wellness would become the least of their priorities. As society and as a nation we must strive to correct all the inequities such as job opportunities, access to affordable high-quality education, and overall activities and programs that help integrate immigrants into mainstream Canadian society.…

“If you're getting rad and there is no one around to see it, are you really getting rad?” (Andy Hayes) This question proposed by Andy Hayes is a tough one to answer, and is one that puzzles skiers and snowboarders across the world. On one hand, you just nailed a totally righteous line that would undoubtedly leave you're alpine counterparts flabbergasted. On the other hand, nobody saw it, and will anybody actually believe your word when you tell them of your incredible feats. Besides for the question of are you getting rad, another must be answered; how rad did you actually get? We can all brag and rant about how amazingly we skied a line, but there must be a quantitative way to prove who got the raddest.…

Being a gay male, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered in the LGBT community isn’t always easy in today’s society. For those who don’t know what LGBT stands for it stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered. In today’s society some people say gay people choose to be gay, personally I find that highly false and very stereotypical. I myself have always been gay since birth I certainly didn’t choose this for myself, which I wouldn’t change for the world. The day I came out was the first time I finally felt whole, and true to myself.…

No one wants to be the bearer of bad news. In my Mexican family, it is a type of taboo to talk about bad news because it brings bad luck. For my family, it is debatable whether being part of the LGBTQ+ community is a bad or insignificant thing. It is believed that it is better not to talk about this kind of sensitive topics to save others’ discomfort. I decided to come out of the closet with a letter. I wanted to be clear that I was not straight. The steps I took to “come out” to my parents were: brainstorming for my letter, going through many rough drafts, being satisfied with the final draft, presenting the letter, and living post-letter.…
