Since prices are determined by consumers and producers, the value and prices of products can dramatically change because of the preferences of the people. This can cause prices to peak dangerously high or fall unfavorable low. The market economy offers luxuries, however. only people who can offered it receive it. People who are homeless would unlikely escape poverty. They can struggle to survive even in a developed and rich country. Additionally, a market economy has large income gaps. There can be billionaires, such as Donald trump, who lives an extravagant lifestyle living right next to citizens who struggle to make a living. Command economies too have their disadvantage. The most obvious disadvantage would be economic freedom. Command economies focus on fulfilling everyone needs, not their wants. This causes countries such as North Korea spending the majority of their money on food rather than entertainment. Command economies lack incentives as well since it is a trade off from focusing on equity. Since they are giving everyone the same salary, a student would not feel motivated to become educated and fulfill a difficult job. Command economies might not be efficient in their productions. The advantages of a market economy is the ability for an individual to purchase any product that they wish through any company, the creation of competition which help to create either better quality products, cheaper products, or a mixture of both in turn giving consumers choices to choose from, and also the ability to create and own your own businesses if you wish. The disadvantages of such a system is limited government influence, because of limited government influence/ regulations workers rights are sometimes not taken into consideration and our natural resources and environment are depleted through lack of care and consideration because it’s all about making a profit. Government regulation is needed to keep businesses/ corporations in check.…

There are three basic questions of economy and they are as follows: what to produce, how to produce it and who to produce it for. In a market economy, the organization is geared around producing or making the product and deciding what and how. Then the customer decides for whom when they actually purchase the product. This philosophy differs from a command economy because it’s the government – or a central command – that makes all of these decisions.…

The argument still persists of which economy is better. These economies both try to look after their people in different ways. The command economy is more of a direct supervision of its people. It is similar to how a parent watches over a child. The government tries the best to ensure safety in the economic world for their civilians just like a parent protects their child. On the other hand, a market economy is similar to the moments of a bird. When the bird reaches a certain point, they must take a leap. This leap will either kill them, or let them prosper. The market economy is similar since individuals must take the risk to be successful. The risk though, even if possible, may not end as badly we’d like to think. Thousands of businesses flourish in these markets, all because of the risks people have taken to get there, and only some didn’t “flap their wings” like the bird should. This risk pushes people to do their best, so they can prosper like they want. Both economies try to help the very people of the nation, but because of the markets economies risk, there is also great prosperity. This is the very thing that command economies do not…
