Drawings:
Cave paintings are paintings found on cave walls and ceilings, and especially refer to those of prehistoric origin. The earliest such art in Europe dates back to the Aurignacian period, approximately 40,000 years ago. Evidence suggests that they were not merely decorations; they speak of stories and things that may have happened in their life. Also surprisingly nearly 340 caves have now been discovered in France and Spain that contain art from prehistoric times.
Written Language:
Writing enables the spread of ideas over vast distances of time and space and is a prerequisite of complex civilization. Where, and by whom writing was first developed remains unknown, but scholars place the beginning of writing at 6,000 BC. Writing numbers for the purpose of record keeping began long before the writing of language. The history of writing is primarily the development of expressing language by letters or other marks.
Smoke:
In Ancient China, soldiers stationed along the Great Wall would alert each other of impending enemy attack by signaling from tower to tower. In this way, they were able to transmit a message as far away as 750 kilometers in just a few hours. The North American Indians also communicated using smoke signals. Each tribe had its own signaling system and understanding.
Postal Service:
The practice of communication by written documents carried by one person or place to another almost dates back nearly to the invention of writing. The first credible claim for the development of a real postal system comes from Ancient Persia. Mail may not have been the primary mission of this postal service, however. Messages later on found easier ways to send messages like trains, vehicles, internet, etc.
Pigeons:
A carrier pigeon or messenger pigeon is a homing pigeon that is used to carry messages. Most homing or racing type birds are used to carry messages. There is no specific breed actually called "carrier
