Both books touched on taking place in the heart of Alaska presumable during the Alaskan gold rush and the main similarity is the climate. One piece of evidence from the end of Call of the Wild is, “... he may be seen running at the head of the pack.” This piece of evidence leads us to believe that Buck is still alive unlike the ending to To Build a Fire. Another piece of evidence from To Build a Fire is, “ And still later it moved closer to the man and caught the smell of death.” The quote clearly shows that the man died at the end of the book unlike in Call of the Wild. Although this was the main difference is still one more to cover.
The final difference between the two books was that the main character in one was a dog and in the other it was a man.
