Compare And Contrast Gunite Pools
Gunite and vinyl liner pools are the two most common types of inground pool construction in the northeastern states and both are good options. There are some major differences between them, in terms of construction, durability and maintenance. Getting all the information can help you make the wisest choice, so let’s look at some particulars about each type.

Gunite Pools

Gunite pools are created using steel rebar coated with an application of concrete to make the shell for the pool. It must meet National Pool and Spa Codes, which currently states that it should have a minimum strength of 2500psi. After the concrete shell is complete, it is finished with tile, stones or plaster to make it waterproof. Putting in a gunite pool in the north requires considerably more work, expertise and materials than a similar project in the south; ice pressure and temperature extremes can and do cause cracking if the job is not done properly. Gunite pools are more expensive in northern areas for these reasons.

It allows endless customization of sizes and shapes; whatever you can dream up, you can have! No matter if you prefer rectangular, kidney shaped, freeform, or a cool guitar-shaped pool, gunite makes it a realistic option.

With Gunite, you can choose a beautiful interior finish that includes any color plaster, beautiful tiles, shells or stones. These pools can be dressed as elegantly as you prefer.

Maintenance of a Gunite pool means keeping the ph balance of your pool right, and keeping it super clean to avoid problems. The finishes can become pitted over time and scaling is a problem that can cause discoloration; you can have it cleaned with an acid wash that will cost about $1000. Replastering can become your only option if you have it acid washed more than a few times, and that will set you back about $2000. Again, the better you care for your pool, the less problems you will have with the Gunite liner.

All in All, Mud, River, Stone by Lynn Nottage, was truthfully the most eye-opening experience in theater I have ever had the great privilege to be a part of, a realistic look at the way our society views foreign problems but also how we deal with them in retrospect to ourselves once again making the very loud statement that if it doesn’t directly affect us then it doesn’t necessarily matter. I am beyond pleased at our very successful run from February 11th-Feburary 14th not only for the work that we did as a cast but also for successfully turning the mirror in so our audiences could see out.…

The article in New York Times talks about the spacecraft that was sent into space 36 years ago and recently NASA was able to send a newer version of it into space. Voyage 1 was initially designed as a four-year mission to Saturn. It is the first spacecraft to exit our solar system. This will help scientists to explore the outside of our solar system. Voyage 1 stopped sending pictures however; it helped scientists to attain pictures of Saturn and Jupiter. Voyage 2 will be able to send better pictures and scientists expect it to exit our solar system in a few years. NASA has high hopes for the new and improved Voyage 2. By improving a spacecraft they will be able to get better samples and images of other planets further than Saturn and Jupiter and maybe even see what's outside of the solar system. They made a prediction that it will pass some stars and will be pulled by their gravity. I found this article interesting because nobody has yet seen what the outside of our solar system is like. Maybe NASA will be able to state some groundbreaking news from the new pictures that they will attain.…

When I began reading “Greasy Lake” by T. Coraghessan Boyle, I thought these boys were exhibiting typical behavior of young-adult men and their behavior led them to trouble. Boyle kept my interest by anticipation and disgust at the boys of the boy’s behavior in this story. The narrator, who is the main character of the story, often describes himself and his friends as “bad characters” and this becomes more convincing in the story. Boyle also used Greasy Lake at not only the setting for this story but also as a character. He described the lake as “fetid and murky, the mud banks glittering with broken glass and strewn with beer cans and the charred remains of bonfires.” Greasy Lake is used as a symbol for the youth culture itself in the story and is littered by alcohol, sex and violence.…

When it comes to choosing classes for a semester I always try to choose an enjoyable class. One where I know I will not have to stress over tests and homework. Last semester was weight training. This semester as I was browsing I stumbled upon a class titled Geology 270. This class caught my attention right away. I looked at the course description and read it. The thing that stood out the most was that in this class we would study the geology of the eastern Sierra Nevada in one of the most unique ways one could think of, a 3 day field trip. I have never been camping and I thought this would be the best way to do it for the first time. I figured since I would go with teachers and other students it would be both fun and educational. I was not wrong. So, I signed up for the class and signed up my sister for it too. The day of the field trip came quickly.…
