The sheer terror of what hitler put his peers through in Germany is what separates the Holocaust from other acts of genocide. America was allies with Russia and Stalin so we don’t talk about him that much as a country. Even …show more content…
though Stalin outright killed more people, hitler caused more fear. “[H]is regime propagated [an] unprecedented horror”. In the span of 12 years that the holocaust took place, Hitler had killed 2 out of every three european Jewish people with a total of 6,000,000 people killed. At first Hitler had people killed with lethal injections, poisonous gasses, or mass shootings. Later, Hitler decided to make the killings more secluded into 6 “killing centers” know as concentration camps, and there bodys would then be cremated. If they were lucky enough to not be killed outright, there would be put into concentration camps where they would eventually die from, forced labor, starvation, exposure, brutality, or diseases. There is no words strong enough to express just how horrible it was, and the schism it caused across Europe.
One of the most famous of the six concentration camps was Auschwitz-Birkenau. It had massive pits scattered throughout, used as a means to dispose of the dead bodies. about 107,000 bodies would be buried in each. No running water, no sanitary measurements, no plumbing, very little food, and countless animals ran free throughout their containments. The “showers” were used as a trick. Nazi party members would tell Jewish people that the showers were with warms water to clean themselves, but instead the would engulf the prisoners in deadly gasses. If they weren’t gassed they were burned. The constant smell of burning flesh and hair were constant reminders that at any moment they could be sent to be killed.
So what does that have to do with ISIS?
ISIS stands for The Islamic state of Iraq and Syria. They are and extremist militant group forcing and killing people in order to for a “perfect” state of religion. Sound familiar? To keep better track of Christians, ISIS troops are marking them with the Arabic letter ن . This is the word Nasarah which is the Arabic word for Christian. Does that ring any bells? When you compare and contrast the Holocaust and ISIS, the similarities are eerily similar.
Adolf Hitler truly believed that he was doing the world a favor by exterminating those who are different from him. and exterminate is such a good word for what he did, he treated them like we would treat bugs. In many ways, this is what ISIS is doing today. They are attacking and murdering thousands of innocent people, just because of their religious beliefs. They feel justified and are proud to show off what they are doing to the rest of the world by posting online videos of them beheading innocent civilians from all over the world. ISIS feels no shame in what they have done and what they plan to do in the future because they feel it is necessary to make the world a perfect
place. The way ISIS punishes people who are different, is very extreme. They kill gay men by throwing them off of buildings. They kill their own members. They capture women and sell them as sex slaves. They destroy ancient/priceless artifacts. and the list could go on and on. They simply do not care who or what you are, if you're different from them. They think that by killing as many people as possible that they will somehow make every single person in the world part of their “religion”. But no matter how many people they kill there will always be people fighting them and believing in other things. And by forcing their religion upon people, it drives more people away. Let’s hypothetically say that ISIS succeeds and they convince every person in the world to pledge allegiance to their group. No matter how hard ISIS tries to maintain that, people will rebel and believe what they want to because it’s been proven to happen throughout history. ISIS has stated that they want to achieve a totalitarian caliphate throughout the world. Totalitarian means complete devotion to the state, and caliphate is a form of Islamic government lead by a Caliph, who is a person who considered a direct descendant of Muhammad. Their second goal is to pit Muslims against each other to incite internal divisions within the West, and to turn the West against Islam. When most people think of the Holocaust they exclusively think of Hitler and horrifying deaths. But there
