I. Similarities
Both presidential campaigns used televisions as their tools to deliver messages to a large audience. In fact, televisions were a primary way in which American citizens could learn about presidential candidates. Televisions were used to show debates between candidates, so that citizens could be able to know who should lead them.
II. Differences

Kennedy won this campaign because he performed well on television with much support composed of 90% of all Americans. Nixon had only 10% of the population who listened to radios (Chris& Sox, 2007). Today people are using different kinds of methods in politics. Some use democracy in some countries where citizens vote the president of their choice. On the other side, in some nations there is still the use of hierarchy where leadership is hereditary.
