Compare And Contrast Obama And Putin

President Obama and President Putin are great examples of leaders who have different views on how to run a country. Both Obama and Putin are Presidents who are in charge of controlling the military, vetoing legislative bills, and appointing their Cabinet. In both cases Presidents Obama and Putin seek the assistance of their cabinets to support them on their opinions on how to run their country. Similarly, Obama and Putin choose to fill their cabinet with close friends who all think congruously. Although both men follow specified roles, they use their powers to influence the countries in ways that they believe are most beneficial. Even though both leaders run a democratic country the powers they have are very different. In Russia, Putin has
more control of the country since most of their checks and balances are not set. A serious event that shows the difference between these two leaders reciprocal choices are the events currently taking place in the country of Syria. President Obama wants to assist Syria to the best of the United States' abilities without causing too much havoc or unwarranted belligerence. His idea on establishing this peaceful retaliation is using the air force and few ground units. On the other hand, President Putin believes in a strong manifestation in Syria, sending in armed forces and purging it of any terroristic activities, since it is crucial to Russia’s economy. As both leaders function in a similar structure their personal beliefs make the difference in how the country is operated.
