Fall B: Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease
Medicine has made great progress in the 2oth century but still not all diseases can be cured. Two such diseases are Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. In this essay I will discuss the similarities and differences of these two diseases and describe some of the symptoms.
First, there are only two similarities between the diseases. Both of them are caused by genetics. This means that some people are more likely to get the diseases than other people are. Scientists think that the disease can be passed on from parent to child. Furthermore, research seems to show that both diseases affect people who are older more than they do people who are younger.
