Song of myself and because I could not stop death. Theses two poems are really different they both are about life and death.
Song of myself is about life and how you should not dwell on all the negative but you should dwell on
Both happiness and sadness and never take life for granted. The writer wants you to understand that life is not just about the hard times its about loving life and not caring what anyone else things or says. Because I could not stop death is about how death is around every corner and don’t think its not. That life can come to a big stop and don’t take life for granted and never try and cheat death , and that sometimes death will show you life as if you were still alive and sometimes kids an never see death of feel it . both of the poems are about life and how you may life to the fullest but then you might die if you do to much. They want you to understand that yes live life to the fullest but do not over do it.
People may say “YOLO all the way man” but YOLO means you only live once (yes we know that) but don’t over do it! You may say wow this poem makes me wanna just live my life and not have a care in the world but really u need to be safe and not go all
