Though when I saw the play for the first time, I realized that the set that I saw was only a small part of the entire set. In addition to the the pox house that was set up with an amazing amount of detail with all of the little trinkets on the shelves, the lights and sound effects also added to the level of greatness. The colors of the lights would accurately match the mood of a scene or set the tone. This is essentially what lights are supposed to do in a play, but it is sometimes overlooked in small school productions. With regards to the sound effects, I was a bit taken aback by the real life aspect of it. Not in the way that I casually hear Satan’s whispers in the trees, but in a way that there was, for the most part, always some background noise. Not in a way that took away from the acting, but how the thunderstorm and the wind really set that important level of reality. It actually wasn’t until the wind stopped abruptly in one scene, did I notice the importance of it and how it balanced with the lines that were being
