John and Abigail’s relationship was forribbidon because John was married. Their feelings for each other were strong. They would sneak around and meet up later in the day just see each other. Abigail says, “ I know how you clutched my back behind your house and sweated like a stallion whatever I come near! Or did I dream that? It’s she put me out, you cannot pretend it were you. I saw your face when she put me out, and you loved me then and you do now!” (Miller 22). They had great passion for each other in the beginning. She had condemned many people to jail and the court believed all of it. John Proctor was in the courtroom when her just snapped and grabbed Abigail threw her on the court table yelling and shouting. Proctor says, Your raising up a whore.” (Miller). John was so mad he just gave up and shouted the unspeakable. Proctor said “God is Dead.” (Miller). Proctor could not believe that they were going along with Abigail’s lies. It seemed like she was getting away with everything, like there was no way out of her lies.
In conclusion John and Abigail's relationship eventually fizzled out with style. John finally realized that Abigail was crazy with all her plans to destroy Elizabeth.
