The Crucible Why Did John Proctor Want

In the movie, The Crucible, Abigail wanted to marry John Proctor. In order for her to have John, she had to have his wife dead, the only way for his wife to die at the moment was to be accused of witchcraft. Abigail started to accuse people of witchcraft along with all her friends, she blamed the slave they had, and even some of the people she liked. Abigail kept getting her way and kept accusing, then she accused the Proctor family. John didn’t like Abigail accusing them for something she knew wasn’t true, so he tried to accuse her of witchcraft and for being two-face, meaning she would change attitudes to get what she wanted. John wasn’t able to succeed in that case and instead the problem turned onto him. Abigail finds out that he is going
to be hanged the next morning and ran away. John was forced into signing a paper saying he was guilty, but instead he ripped the paper, denied about being a witch and was hanged. We learned about the life of Equiano and how he was treated on the way to the United States. The movie is somewhat relatable to Equiano’s life because of how the people treated others about witchcraft. The people trialed of witchcraft were abused the same way the slaves were abused. The Crucible also reminds me of, Of Plymouth Plantation by William Bradford. They are both alike because the people dressed the same way I thought of the Puritans’ dressing style. I enjoyed the movie because it shows how people were treated back in time due to their beliefs. The movie was enjoyable because it was informative about the consequences of taking your beliefs above others. That’s why I enjoyed the movie because it showed about the beliefs of people being a problem back then.
