Compare And Contrast The Gift Of The Magi And The Sesame Street
To summarize, the original Gift of the Magi and the Sesame Street version is that the two characters gave up their most cherished items. In both stories there are similarities and differences like how the plot lines are similar but the events are different. In Gift of the Magi Dell and Jim go to different shops to find their presents when Bert and Ernie both go to the same shop to get their presents. When they are opening their presents Dell and Jim find out they can't use their presents and tell each other. Bert and Ernie do the same thing except they don't tell each other that they don't have that object that they bought the present for because they end up getting those objects back therefore no need to tell each other they traded those objects
to buy each others present. In conclusion the original Gift of the Magi and the Sesame Street version are excellent examples of dramatic irony, situational irony, and verbal irony."
