In short stories "The Lady with a Dog" by Anton Chekhov and "Araby" by James Joyce, elements of the setting coaxed characters of "Araby" and "The Lady with a Dog" to indulge in unreasonable love and dreamy self delusion.
In Chekhov's short story, "The Lady with a Dog," components of the setting, such as location, nature, time, and season, encourages the characters Anna and Dmitri to entertain their affair with a unattainable relationship and charming illusion.
