According to the Business Dictionary.com, the word “Lifestyle” refers to the way of living of individuals, families (households), and societies, which they manifest in coping with their physical, psychological, social, and economic environments on a day-to-day basis. This means that citizens of a particular society will change their everyday life or behavior in order to adapt to the ever-changing environment. In this report, I would like to discuss about the similarities and differences in the lifestyle of Macau citizens and Hong Kong citizens.
Similarities
Firstly, there are a lot of similarities and these resembling characteristics are basically due to the fact that Macau and Hong Kong are the Special Administrative Region of China. Moreover, both of them have been ruled by authorities from a different nation for a long period of time. The common lifestyle which they share includes the social values given to men and women. Basically, men and women are at the same level in nowadays society of Macau and Hong Kong. They are evolving at the almost same speed from the traditional culture that men are at a higher level, and strong evidence is that some jobs can only be performed by men. This changing belief leads Macau and Hong Kong to become fairer and more socially moral in terms of social hierarchy.
Another mutual characteristic is the government policy, which is the “one country, two systems”. Under this policy, the Central People’s Government is responsible for their defence and foreign affairs, yet both territories are allowed to maintain their own legal system, police force, monetary system, customs policy and immigration policy. They both permitted to have their own Governor.
Differences
On the other hand, there are quite a number of differences in terms of lifestyle between Macau citizens and Hong Kong citizens. The major ones are their leisure activities and the pace of their lives. With
