Compare And Contrast The Scarlet Ibis And The Sniper
In these two stories they talk about two brothers. The first story is “The Sniper”, it was written by Liam O’Flaherty. The second story is “The Scarlet Ibis”, it was written by James Hurst. These two authors used regret, war, and brotherhood to make the story. In “The sniper” there are two brothers fighting on the opposite sides of the war. The brother who is fighting for the Republican side sees a shot in the distance. He fires and then he realizes he has shot his brother. The brother who shot the fire feels regret. The text supports this by stating, “The sniper turned over the dead body and looked into his brother’s face.” “The Scarlet Ibis” has a different situation of regret. The youngest brother is crippled and the oldest one is ashamed
