The Red Wings and Blackhawks have had a historical and very impactful rivalry. Both teams have won their fair share of Stanley cups. Both are great teams who deserve a lot of respect on how their franchises have stayed as winning teams. But all people, including myself, have their own bias opinion on which team is better. People always compare these two teams on how many Stanley cups they have won on how many times they have had playoff runs. All great points and need to be discussed and compared to determine who the better team is.
Any team is judged on how many championships they have won. The Redwings have won 11 Stanley cups whereas the Blackhawks have won only 5 Stanley cups. The Redwings historically have always had better chances and have delivered more than the Blackhawks have. The Redwings have appeared in the Stanley cup finals 24 times and have won 11 but lost 13. But it is harder for them since they have been there so many times, to win every single one of them. The Blackhawks, however, have been to the Stanley cup finals 9 times and have won 5 but lost 4. The Blackhawks have a better record when it comes to Stanley cup wins, but the Blackhawks have not been to the finals as many times as the Redwings. The Blackhawks had a long Stanley cup final drought until 2010 when the won the cup. This shows that the Redwings have been to the Stanley cup more times and have had a better record winning in the finals. Redwings statistically are a better team and have had more chances to do better.
But how do these teams get into the playoffs to try and win a Stanley cup? We’ll all teams are separated into divisions with about seven or eight teams in the divisions. There is lots of debate on what the easiest division is or what the hardest division is. The Redwings are in the Atlantic division and they have to play the Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leaves, Buffalo Sabers, Ottawa Senators, and
