Comparing Beowulf, Othello, And Pygmalion

Throughout the semester in Mrs.Forstson English four class, we had the great opportunity to read four amazing books. The books we read were Beowulf, Othello, Macbeth, and Pygmalion. Each book we read had a moral that can be used in today's society. The book titled Beowulf highlighted loyalty, bravery, reputation, and desire to fight against evil. In the book Othello, the moral of the story was don't allow manipulation and jealousy to control your life. From reading Macbeth you will find the moral of the story was ambition and power are two powerful traits that can impact your life. When reading Pygmalion the moral of the story was beware of the effect others have on you and how the help of others can contribute your growth as a person. After
Othello and I connect with a character trait called jealousy. In the book, Othello becomes jealous after the manipulation of Iago. Iago convinces Othello that his wife Desdemona has been unfaith to him. In a jealous raid, Othello eventually kills Desdemona and himself. I become connected with Othello because of his view on love and relationships. When dating someone you want that person to be all yours. You don't want anybody thinking of them or taking them away from you. In previous relationships, I had to learn that jealousy can cause issues among the two. Just like it caused numerous issues with Othello and Desdemona. Being in a situation like this helped me grow and realize jealousy is a trait you shouldn't want to have. You can lose the one you love being jealous all of the time. I have experienced that. Jealousy just doesn't happen in relationships, it can be friendships too. Throughout my high school years, I unfriended a person due to their jealous ways. After I wasn't their friend anymore the person began to have a negative effect my other friends and me. They went around school saying they were going to expose my friends and I. The person started rumors to affect my life. From then on I knew I couldn't be friends with anybody who is jealous and that isn't a trait I want to have. Jealousy can lead to hateful
