Comparing Juba And American Gangster
Juba was a very interesting short story, It reminded me of the movie "American Gangster" starring Denzel Washington. There were alot of similarities between the two. In "Juba", Juba was not just a drug dealer or kingpin but a provider for his community . similarly in "American Gangster" Denzel's character Frank Lucas was also a kingpin that had a lot of power and so many connections . The police knew his whereabouts and watched his every move yet he did not get in trouble until many years later.
