Comparing Luhrmann's Romeo And Juliet

William Shakespeare made a story called Romeo and Juliet.Later on in 1996 the director Baz Luhrmann made a movie based on the story that William Shakespeare made called Romeo+Juliet .Popular stories are adapted into motion picture.ill be discussing about some contrast in the story romeo and juliet and its adapted motion picture.The original story takes place in Verona, Italy and in the movie the location is in Verona Beach, Florida in the United States.the capulet and the montegue in the original story are warring families in italy.In the movie they are two familys that have corporation and are against each other.The story takes place in the 1500’s and in the movie it takes place in the 1990’s.
The story starts by a street fight between the
montegue and the capulets witch involves swords and fencing.In the movie they are using guns in the fight. The movie also added some scene that does not happen in the story.For example in the movie romeo takes ecstasy before going to the party at the capulet's house.The thing is that in the original story that doesn't happen.After the masquerade romeo and juliet meet up in juliet’s balcony but in the movie they meet up in juliet's pool. Romeo is outside the capulets cryt but he incounters paris.Paris was ther to give some flowers to his dead fiance.They both get in a argument but it ends up in romeo killing paris.In the movie romeo dosent incounter any one while trying to go inside the capulets crypt.Romeo goes inside the capulets's crypt where he finds juliet ‘dead’ and drinks the poison.He dies and a few moments later juliet wakes up to find her beloved romeo dead.She had a dagger with her so she decides to stab herself and committing suicide.In the movie on the other case romeo drinks the poison but before he dies juliet wakes up and they share a last kiss after their kiss romeo dies.Romeo had a handgun with him so juliets decides take it and shoot her self in the head and she commits suacid.
