9. The Phantom of the Opera

Comparative Literature: “Phantom of the Opera movie in 2004 and “ The Ugly Duckling” and the Story of Mulciber/Vulcan in mythology.

The Phantom of Opera has a movie in December 22, 2004, directed by, Joel Schumacher, and with the writers Joel Schumacher, Andrew Lloyd Webber. In the story of Vulcan, in his childhood, he was also rejected by his parents (Hera and Zeus) because of all their children, it is Vulcan who appeared to be the ugliest of all.
Alike the story of the ugly duckling, the story of the said phantom in the opera especially during their younger days. The characters of both stories experienced discrimination because of their ugliness. The main character in the phantom of the

As the movie begins in New York and introduces Ichabod crane a detective, who has his own vision of how to “solve” crimes. Ichabod Crane is then sent to the small town of Sleepy Hollow to solve the three murder cases of the townspeople. Although the movie is fairly similar to the short story , the movie ends up taking a twist that leads the ending in a different direction from the original story.…
