Online VS on Campus

Write an essay in which you compare and contrast the advantages and disadvantages of engaging in a specific online activity with those pursuing the same activity in a more traditional way.

Comparing online college institutions to a physical campus can be a difficult task. Many students know what degree they want to pursue, but with so many online universities offering a wide array of the same programs it makes it that much harder to choose. Some things to consider would be the enrollment process, the class scheduling, and last but not least the college’s accreditation. First let us start with

Some online colleges allow you to pick the class that you want to take. They also may allow you to pick the day and time of the class which would work for someone who has a very busy schedule. Then you some online institutions that pick your classes for you, and your class has guidelines that you have to follow, like a due date for your work, and how many days you have to respond to an assignment. When attending classes on an actual campus you have to physically go into the registration office and sign up for classes unless they school offers a virtual sign up option. You will have to wait in a long line and hope that the classes you want are available for the time and day that you want it. Sometimes when it comes to scheduling classes on campus you have to make your work and personal schedules fit around the classes because that class may be the last one available and not at a day or time that really works for you. This can be done online for students who attend an online university. For students that attend a university on campus this can be done by physically going on campus and talking to an admissions advisor. Both processes are really easy to do, but the real question is which one you would rather do. An online student can just sign in to their home page and access their student hand book and there it is. Or they can email a staff member and ask them a few questions and receive a quick reply. If you are a student on campus that means that not only do you have to leave the comfort of your home but in the process you have to waste gas. Going to an accredited online university you are more likely to get a job faster than you would if you were going to an accredited campus university. Also college credits are easier to transfer when you attend online college than an actual physical university. Accredited universities on campus have strict rules about transfer credits and can be really picky. You have to choose for yourself where you want to attend an online accredited university where you can easily find a job, and where you do not have to worry about if your transfer credits will be accepted. Or do you want to attend a university on campus where you have to worry about the chances of not finding a job and also worry about whether another university will accept your transfer credits. This sometimes boggles
