Have you ever wondered, hey, that painting looks sad? Well paintings have themes too. The painting “The Scars of Bullying,” by Haley Lucero has almost the same motif as “All summer in a day,” by ray bradbury. All summer in a day is about how people colonized Venus. It rains only every seven years.…
All Summer in a Day, by Ray Bradbury teaches readers that jealousy can lead you to do horrible things. The other children are jealous of Margot because she remembers what the sun is like, and they don’t. Therefor, the theme of jealousy shows up many times throughout the story. Making it evident that the theme of All Summer in a Day, is that you shouldn’t let jealousy guide you into making poor decisions.…
Have you ever felt like you are were alone, and nobody is listening to what you have to say? These are the feelings Margot was expressing. She was in a classroom, having a happy day about to see the sun, and then she was turned on, trapped in a closet. The short story and movie, “All Summer in a Day,” by Ray Bradbury and Ed Kaplan is a story of a child, living on Venus, named Margot that wishes she would see the sun again. Every seven/nine years it would come out, and Margot wasn't able to experience it, since she was trapped inside the closet. This was because Will was jealous of how she was able to see it when she was very little. Both stories are made off of the same idea, but are drastically different. Yes, there may be some similarities, but you see that there are plenty of differences. This is shown from all of the extra footage Ed Kaplan needed to add in. Such as in the ending, when it doesn't just show Margot leaving the closet like in the short story, but all of the kids feel so bad they gave her the flowers that they grabbed.…
“In the heat of the night” is a novel written by John Ball who is a famous detective novel. In this essay I will discuss about the differences between the book and the film of “In the heat of the night”. The book gives you more details about what is happening and it is more interesting. The film doesn’t give as much details as the book does, the film changes some things and it makes it less interesting. In the book the story is taking place in Wells. In the film the story is taking place in Sparta. In the book “Virgil Tibbs” is from Pasadena CA, in the film “Virgil” is from Pasadena PA (north). In the book the body is of Enrico Mantoli and in the film the body is of Colbert. In the book when Gillespie asks Virgil if he can look at the body he says “yes”. In the film when Gillespie asks Virgil to look at the body he says that he is not an expert. In the book Sam and Ralph talk about racist, in the film the skip the “borders” discussion.…

“Get away!” The boy gave another push “What’re you waiting for?” This is just one of the ways Margot gets bullied in “All Summer In A Day” by Ray Bradbury. Margot wants to be accepted, but doesn’t know how. Two ways this happens is she doesn’t know how to socialize into that group, and she has little understanding of defense.…

1 Chase Kuykendall4/4/2018Assignment 2.6 Our differences do not define us, what defines us is how we act, and how we portray ourselves. If you acted out, and foolish you would be defined as a fool. Just because of your 50 years old, doesn’t mean that you don’t like the same thing as let’s say a 29 year old. Or because you have a dark color of skin, or a white skin, we all are the same on the inside, and that’s all that matters.…
