Throughout history, there have been large numbers of people who undertook their missions with perseverance, and dedication. For many people, missions are driven by many different types of motivations. Some of these motivations include people cheering one on, thoughts of the good outcome, etc. In StudySync’s Unit 1 texts, Ernesto Galarza, starred in the story “Barrio Boy”, pursued a mission to fit in at a new school, Farah Ahmedi, from “The Other Side of The Sky”, was driven on a mission to get through the border and into Pakistan, and Cap, from “The Cremation of Sam McGee” committed to a mission of cremating Sam McGee.

In paragraph 1, Farah says “I felt desperate to get through.” This shows that her mission was to get through, and she was very desperate to acquire this. She had to face challenges such as her mom’s asthma, and having to travel long distances with a prosthetic leg, as well as their lack of supplies. In paragraph 1, where it says “There was nothing here, no town, no hotel, no buildings, just the desert.” However, her determination to get a better life that is safe from war helps her undertake this mission.
