Introduction Chaplaincy is a service or ministry offered in secular settings or settings that are outside normal places of worship such as military installation a university, hospital, prison, school, or workplace.1 Although broad in scope, chaplaincy ministry centre on the intellectual, emotional, social, interpersonal, and spiritual dimensions of life and they seek to assist personal awareness, understanding, growth and integration.2 This paper will discussion on the four (4) main duties that chaplains provide—Worship, Counseling, Ministry of …show more content…
In the military, though the chaplain is not required to carry ammunitions, however he or she is expected to be combat ready in case of military advancement during the war time. Military people are trained in various combat skills in such a way to be able to face various challenges coming their ways. Chaplains are not exempted from this training. For instance, sailors are trained in the water survival skill in case of any ship wreck. Sailors learnt these skills third, second and first swimming categories. They also learn prone floating skills. All these are essential for battle readiness, and chaplains are equally saddled with this readiness
