Palliative and hematological cancer care is the health interventions performed by nurses to improve quality of life, not only of a dying patient but his family too. Nurses who continuously give this kind of interference in a fast – pace and more complex condition might experience much stress and may become more vulnerable to compassion fatigue, burnout and resilience.
Compassion fatigue occurs when a nurse re-experience, remembers, avoids a situation happened in the past with added effects of cumulative stress. Because of this, the nurse is eager to help an individual, who is traumatized, or suffering from something which often result for his reduced individual, professional and social productivity.

This negative transformation that resembles to post traumatic disorder usually occurs during and after providing palliative care to a patient who suffers trauma. Nurses, who suffer from this, might lose positive view about him and others which could possibly cause negative effects to both; personal and professional aspects of life. It has been proven that its effects are cumulative and permanent.

Dear diary,
Today I’m so tired and feeling down in caring my patients. I feel that I’m losing my emotional energy to care them plus I’m still carrying the burdens of my children who are far away from me. I missed them so much but could not hug them. I feel so sorry for my patients with young family that they could no longer do anything for their children and sadly if they die they don’t know what will happen to them.
But I need to go on. I need to persevere. I will focus on the goodness of God in my life because He promised His plans for me is good and not for evil to give me a future and a hope. I will speak the Word of God “I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens
