9 Apr 2015 Back In My Days

When I was a senior at North Mesquite High School, I went through some wild moments with my football teammates. I party almost every weekend, with my football teammates. I asked my parents to let me barrow their truck to go see my girlfriend but really I needed the truck to go pick up my friends to go to the party. I always wanted to be the first person to be at the party I just wanted to party for the weekend. Parting was the thing for me to go wild when I was in high school. I told myself, “This is high school, try to make your senior year best out of it!” I started to get into trouble with the law, and had bad grades in some of my classes. My counselor called me out of class one day when I was in athletic. After have a short little meeting with my counselor, she told me that I wasn't going to graduate high school if I kept doing badly in my classes. I went home and told my mom what my counselor had told me. During this point of my life, my lovely mother taught me a treasured and powerful lesson of being responsible for my own acts.

The first thing I needed for myself was to arrive at the party with drinks, and alcohol. I couldn't party without drinks I needed beer to get me savage for the night. The party was hosted by Willie at his dad’s ranch. The ranch had tall grass on the field, and an old house behind the wooden area. The old house was rusty, sitting side way, and the windows were broken too. Also there were some old school cars just parked in the woods getting all rusty, and old ranch tractors. I brought my football teammates with me every time I would go party, they were my body guards. My teammates were Joe, Henry, Willie and Mardo. We all played together on the varsity football team. Joe was one of the top running backs in the nation. Joe was 18 years old, muscular, tall African American and his

When the Nelsons mail their letter on October 5th, there is no immediate legal effect on the Cleavers’ proposal. This is due to the Rejection Mail Box Rule which states that a rejection is effective when it is received by the offeror. When the Cleavers receive the letter, they will understand that the Nelsons have rejected their offer and have proposed a new offer. The type of rejection used by the Nelsons here is called a counteroffer. A counteroffer is a clear refusal of the original offer and a proposal of a new offer. By proposing a counteroffer, the Cleavers’ previous offer for $500,000 with a 10% down payment ($50,000) due upon acceptance of the Cleavers’ offer is effectively rejected and the new offer made by the Nelsons for $525,000 with a 15% down payment ($78,500) due upon acceptance of the Nelsons’ proposal is now in place.…

Hello, I am your daughter, Sabra's, English teacher. I wanted to take the time to enlighten you about her class room behavior and how disrespectful she can get towards me. Don't get me wrong, Sabra is not always discourteous. She has her days where she can be a model student in class and in others she can be my worst nightmare. For the last couple of weeks, Sabra has been coming to class to sleep. When I address her to wake up, she would give me an attitude or curse at me. She says marching band is the blame for her sleeping in class. If marching band is getting in the way of her education, I believe she should reconsider her choice about being in the band. I have informed you in the past about her poor grade in my class. It's as if she doesn't try to attempt and make an effort to do the material I present to the class. I would appreciate it if you have a talk with your daughter about her classroom etiquette and how to appreciate teaching staff on a day to day basis. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my letter and take into consideration the concerns I have with your daughter.…

Hester Prynne, from The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, was alienated from her society for committing adultery with Reverend Dimmesdale. The bible says the man who commits adultery will suffer, and he will be in despair. Job 15:20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 says “All his days the wicked man suffers torment, ... Terrifying sounds fill his ear; ...He despairs of escaping the darkness;...Distress and anguish fill him with terror; they overwhelm him, ...because he shakes his fist at God...” Reverend Dimmesdale struggled with God throughout the whole novel, and God causes him suffering and pain.…

In order to achieve economic goals, stay competitive and improve market position, firms have to advance with times by executing all kinds of strategies, one of which is acquisition. “An acquisition resembles more of an arm’s-length deal, with one firm purchasing the assets or shares of another, and with the acquired firm’s shareholders ceasing to be owners of that firm” (Sudarsanam, 2003). Serving as an important capital restructuring tool, acquisition offers firms a conceivable opportunity for development by taking over another firm economically and legally. This essay aims to demonstrate that initially firms can achieve growth by the means of the acquisition of another firm, but the long-term effect of acquisition appears to be a double-edged sword. Targeted financial indicators will be cited to support this view, and different factors, which include stock market value, shareholders’ income, firm management, external pressure, supply of resources and internal cooperation, will be discussed respectively.…

Throughout the decades, human beings from a small age start learning the characteristics of a male and female. Whether it is from media, clothing and to the way one is brought up, society has similar views of what it means to be a man or a women. Men are envisioned to be strong, aggressive, successful, and someone who avoids feminine characteristics. Women are perceived to be submissive, delicate, passive, dependent, vulnerable, having the ability to care for children and at times worthless. These views of gender identity have been engraved in humanities minds due to the amount of exposure to television, advertisements and the way one is raised in their households.…

When I think back into a time in my life when I felt like an outsider not many events come to mind. One in particular does rein clearer than the others though. The use of implied powers changed the division of power that existed before they existed because it essentially granted the division of powers more power. Implied powers are those that are not specifically stated in the constitution, but it is assumed that if ever needed, Congress or the Supreme Court has the power to add in a rule or law when necessary. Since the Founding Father’s could not anticipate every possible problem that would arise in the following decades and centuries, they had no way of creating a rule for every possible outcome. So they incorporated the enumerated powers, or the implied powers, in the event a situation did occur that was not explicity stated and covered in the Constitution. The addition of implied powers in turn made the central, or federal government more powerful because it gives them the ability to address certain, and or unusual circumstances. Implied powers also give the federal government more power than state government because the federal government is able to rule on each different scenario at their own descretion, as long as it is justifiable. The court case that allowed the use of implied powers was McCulloch versus Maryland in 1819. Basically, the case was wheather or not the government had the right to create a second natioanl bank, and that the state of Maryland could not tax the bank. It is no where blatently stated in the Constitution that have the the government just had to create a second national bank, but with the use of implied powers under the necessary and proper clause, it was deemed as justifiable.…

That year we were called the dream team of lacrosse. The major players on the dream team with me were, twins Taylor and Jackson Vroon and Parkes Grisham. Taylor was middy, worked well together on and off the field. His brother, Jackson, was the goalie. He and I were also friends but he always supported me and wanted me to score. Sometimes I even thought he wanted me to score, even more than I did. Our all-star was Parkes Grisham, his cousin plays for the Broncos so I guess sports was in his genes, he was leading scorer on our team and it was the combination of all of us that got me to my goal.…

The article “Red Flags Before Santa Monica Shooting, But Pointing Fingers is Hard”, by Gloria Goodale states the need to raise awareness in schools, workplaces, and families and teach people to identify red-flag behaviors. Such signs can include a change in behavior, an interest in violent weapons, strange writing, feeling hopeless and the desire to hurt someone. People can be trained recognized behavior before incidents happen, but there are challenges, because it could discriminate against people with mental health problems. The article “Colleges Are Watching Troubled Students”, by Jeffrey McMurray, mentions how many colleges and universities began monitoring and sharing information about troubled students after the Virginia Tech shootings, to prevent crime and violence on school campuses. School officials created a “watch list” of troubled students and decided whether they needed professional help or if they should just kick them out of school. Both articles are similar because if “red flag” behaviors were spotted early on it could prevent those students from harming themselves and others.…

It was game day the field was rough and dry the goals were painted yellow, the burning hot sun was shining off our helmets. The team practiced so hard for this game it was the game that everyone wanted to see. It was only five bucks to get in. the coaches called all the players out on the intercom for the pre game meal, we were having some watermelon and some chicken and a potato it was very good. The chicken was the best. we started warming up when coach had called us down to the field. We had went over some offense and defense. When defense had went out on the field, we had worked on some pass blocks and some blitz plays. In my opinion pass block was my favorite. Everyone's pads was tied tight, cleats were wrapped with white tape, chin straps…
