Compulsory Voting
Voting is a very unique and prestigious event. The ability to vote is an honor, and should be taken extremely seriously and utilized by everybody. Voting allows the public to be represented in a way that mirrors the publics wishes. Voting is a privilege and shouldn’t be looked at as a hassle. Compulsory voting only ensures that the correct choice is made in whatever is being voted upon. Not voting when given the choice, is in essence, refusing an opportunity to voice your opinion. Voting should be made compulsory because it will help fairly elect officials. Generally, voting is used to elect officials in the nation such as the President of the United States, or local representatives. The act of voting is that of a democratic view. As it is now, voting is not compulsory, which leads to not completely accurate polling results. When a person doesn’t exercise their right to vote, it can be a deciding factor for the fate of other people. An example would be in the most recent Presidential elections. If a large population of people did not vote, that affects the results of the election. The non voting people are the determining factor in which way the presidency could have gone, not doing so leaves a margin of error. It allows the wrong person for the job to be elected because all votes were not exercised. Making voting compulsory ensures that at least the maximum amounts of votes will properly be submitted, allowing a fair poll. In addition, making voting compulsory will defend the democratic views the country holds, and allows for fair and equal representation. Similarly, voting should be made compulsory because it voting effects all the people in a country, not just the person voting. Voting is a nation wide event and thing. It serves the purpose to allow people to choose who they want for something when voting, which is representing the people’s beliefs. When someone opts not to vote,
