Q. 1 Prepare a generalized worksheet to produce a Pay Roll Statement for the month of March, 2009 with headings – Sl. No., Name of Employee, Basic Pay, D.A(Dearness Allowance), HRA (House Rent Allowance), Gross Salary, PF (Provident Fund), I.Tax and Net Salary from the following information:
i) There are five employees- Mohan, Sohan, Raksha, Suraksha and Gautam with Basic Pay of Rs.12000, Rs.28000, Rs.18000, Rs.24000 and Rs.15000 respectively. ii) An employee is entitled to Basic Pay, D.A., and HRA . Gross salary is the total of these items. iii) The employee contributes 10% of Basic Salary plus D.A. towards PF and I.Tax is deducted @ 20% of Gross Salary if it is up to Rs.30000, @25% if Salary exceeds 30000 but is less than or equal to Rs 50000 and @ 30% if it exceeds 50000. iv) Net Salary is the carry home salary and is calculated after deducting PF and I Tax..
v) D A is calculated at 125% of Basic Pay if the Basic is up to Rs.20000 and @100% if Basic Pay exceeds Rs.20000 subject to a maximum of Rs 25000. HRA is paid @30% of Basic Salary.

Q.2 Prepare a detailed generalized Pay roll Report of a limited company employing FIVE workers- Ajay, Vijay, Sanjay, Uday and Rajeev for the month of February, 2009 with the following information:
i. Their Basic salary – Rs. 12,000, Rs.15,000, Rs.20,000, Rs.18,000 and Rs.22,000 respectively. ii. Apart from basic they are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Conveyance Allowance (CA) and Bonus. iii. DA is payable @ 30 % of basic. CA payable is 300 for basic below Rs.18,000 and Rs 500 for others. iv. HRA is paid at Rs. 3,300 if the Basic is up to 15,000 and Rs.5,500 for others.
v. Bonus is payable @ 8.33% of Basic plus DA and should not exceed Rs. 2,000. vi. PF is deductible @ 10 % of Basic plus DA. Income tax is deducted @ 10 % of gross salary less than or equal to Rs.30000 and 20% if gross salary is more than Rs.30000.
Show the take home salary of all the employees.
