With so many camps not even discovered yet, as they are still doing an investigation into all of the locations of the camps, but we may not even know how many deaths and the torture of the prisoners by the Fuhrer and the Nazi’s. The Germans had many uses for the concentration camps. A concentration camp is a detention site outside the normal prison system created for military purposes to hold people. Concentration camps were also used to torture, kill, and hold prisoners. Both the Nazi’s and the Japanese used concentration camps as a method to captivate prisoners. But after that the Nazi’s spread the idea of concentration camps all through Europe. The perpetrators used these sites for a range of purposes, including forced labor, detention of people thought to be against them, and murder. After the June, 1941, German invasion of the Soviet Union, the Nazis made more prisoner-of-war (POW) camps. Some new camps were built at concentration camps that were already there. The killing centers were designed for killing lots of people at a time. The German leaders would imprison people in camps for their “otherness”. The extermination camps were made for the sole purpose of killing Jews. When they started making these concentration camps, the only people they imprisoned were political opponents.
