CONDUCT OF 2014 2nd QUARTER EARTHQUAKE DRILL
I. INTRODUCTION
Having experienced the recent 7.2 magnitude earthquake some Boholanos are already nervous and uneasy every time there is news about the said calamity. Thus, they became very eager to undergo drills and listen to some orientations and preparations in responding calamities in order for them to be prepared for the future calamities.
Public awareness is very much necessary to obtain and improve the people’s preparedness and mitigation. Thus this earthquake preparedness drill was conducted.
II. INFORMATION DISSEMINATION
It was only November 12, 2014 at 7:45 AM, after the flag raising ceremony, that an Information Dissemination to conduct the earthquake drill would be done the next day, to heighten the students and teachers’ awareness on what to do and prepare during earthquakes. Students from first year to fourth year and all the teachers were gathered for the purpose. A lecture about Earthquakes and its effects to people and buildings and even animals were discussed. Students and teachers were asked about their opinions and point of views about this but most of all they were given the tips on what to do during this calamity.
III. DRILL EXECUTION PHASE (Alarm Phase) On November 13, 2014 at 9:00 a.m., the alarm for the earthquake drill sounds to give signal to the teachers and students to execute the drill and do the necessary actuations during earthquakes.
The bell was continuously ringing and also a loud sound of siren was heard for about 30 seconds. And with the
