Conflict involves a clash between the Powerful and the Powerless. If one was to say conflict involves a clash between the Powerful and the Powerless, they would not be entirely correct, as Conflict is defined as: A serious disagreement or argument typically a protracted one. A conflict could be described as a conflict in many different situations or from many different perspectives, but the conflict may not be the same of other described conflicts. Conflicts can also vary as to who they involve, as they do not always involve the Powerful and Powerless as it may involve two Powerful groups and Powerless can be a subjective descriptor, for example: A small corporation has power, but in comparison to much larger corporations, they are powerless.

There are many types of conflict and not all of them involve two separate groups such as The Powerful and the Powerless, a common type of Conflict is interpersonal conflict, or Person to Person, they reason for which the conflict occurs can vary from Contrasts in Opinions and Moral differences to opposing loyalties or seeing eachother as an obstacle to one's goals or desires, usually such people have similar amounts of power. Another type of Conflict is Intrapersonal, or Conflict taking place in the mind, Intrapersonal conflict solely involves the one effected person as it takes place only in their mind, as this Conflict involves only one person it cannot have the Powerful and Powerless, although a person with Intrapersonal conflict may be powerless in their own mind. There is also Intergroup and Intragroup conflict which involves Conflict between Groups and Conflict within groups respectively. These conflict are more likely to involve the Powerful and the Powerless as one group may be more powerful than other groups, making them seem powerless in comparison to themselves and within a group there may be a Sole leader who holds all the power while the other members of the group hold no power, making them powerless in comparison to their Powerful leader.
