Many people in our generation play sports and yeah it may be fun but they might not know the consequences. For example, there may be students in high school who believe the worst thing that can happen is a broken bone, but no, there is many other different injuries that may happen. These injuries can completely affect your daily life and will possibly turn your whole life around. In recent studies it is shown that concussions are very common now especially in athletes, no matter what sport they participate in. CTE is a degenerative disease in the brain mostly found in athletes but can also be found in non-athletes. This affects athletes more likely because of all the head trauma they receive. CTE affects mostly a person’s tissues or vital organs. This disease eventually causes an imbalance of the body and will force someone to have various personality changes. People who have CTE suffer from seizures, memory loss, aggression, confusion, depression and twitching. In some cases this disease causes people to have suicidal thoughts since they no longer have hope to go back to their normal self. The different types of CTE’s are, Dementia, Alzheimer's, Huntington’s Disease, and Parkinson’s Disease. Alzheimer's is diagnosed by brain scans and blood tests. This illness simply leads to death of brain cells. Victims of Alzheimer’s suffer loss of memory and their body tends to forget how to function. The worst part is that this disease is non-reversible. Dementia is a temporary disease that causes a person to forget their previous actions. This type of disease is on the rise, however, it is reversible. Dementia basically is certain symptoms put together to affect one’s ability to remember things , their ability to think, and behavior or mood. Dementia is diagnosed when you start to notice some particular symptoms. Parkinson’s Disease seems a lot like Alzheimer’s but isn’t fully the same, this type of disease affects memory and attention span.
