Daniel Flynn's Essay 'Football Does A Body Good'
In Daniel Flynn’s essay “Football Does a Body Good,” he states his point of view on football and the way we should see it (Flynn). Football is not just an “ego bruiser” it is a dangerous sport that has cause many head injuries and other problems throughout the years. This sport has caused many players to have later on diseases such as CTE, Alzheimer's, Dementia, and many other things due to head trauma. Multiple head injuries has both severe short and long-term effects that have become a major problem in the NFL. Football has become careless, dangerous, and unsafe for those who play the sport.
Football is careless due to the fact that multiple players go in and just hit people without thinking the effects it many have on them later on. They
will do anything to make sure they do not let the opposing team “touch down” or get points including hitting someone so hard that it cause themselves or the other player a concussion. They do have helmets and padding, but it has not been saving the players from preventing these concussions. Many players have had concussion-related brain injuries that have sued the NFL because it was concealing information about concussions, and also rushing injured players back to the field.
