Review of Related Foreign Literature Tourism is the commercial organization, operation and travelling for recreation, vacation, business or visit to interesting places. The people going on these visits are called tourists. Tourism is not only a source of income and employment, but it also serves as a major factor in the balance of payments for many countries, and has therefore gained increasing attention on the part of governments, as well as regional and local authorities, business investors, and others with an interest in economic development. The impacts of global tourism reflect the fact that it is an activity of considerable economic importance. The World Tourism Organization (WTO) is the lead agency responsible for the development of the standardized tourism definitions. The agency states that tourism is defined by “the set of activities of a person traveling to a place outside his or her usual environment for at least one night, but less than a year, and whose main purpose of travel is other than the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited”. Tourism in El Nido is reasonable destination for having a vacation due to their tour packages, but due to their manual operations, many of the visitors’ unconscious of the rules and the regulations as well as the necessary international agreements on other processes in respect of tourism. Tour guides may be the most maligned people in the world of travel. They are blamed for the problems of travel, such as bad weather and traffic jams. Being present in person before a tourist they are expected to solve all problems of tourist- within or outside of their control. Failure to do so is considered as a poor performance. This is unjust as well as challenging. Therefore points out that tour guides are “buffers‟ between the tourist and the site visited.
A second aspect of ecotourism is that it seeks to promote “sustainable” tourism.
