Old Castle Road – Garden falls into sea
A couple living in Old Castle Road woke up to discover they had a new view than the day before in February 2009. They thought they had at least 20 years before any land erosion would threaten their home. 6ft of their garden collapsed (abrasion) into the beach below.

The supply also affects the main gas supply to Portland which covers 4000 domestic property’s as well as industrial businesses. It could cost Weymouth up to 60 million pounds for sea defences to counteract there perishing coast.
