Zack and Cody are 16 years old and apparently both of them are twins accept Cody was born later than Zack leading to Zack being the eldest and Cody comes after. Ever since young, both Zack and Cody had the same treatment from their parents. Zack as an older brother, he was always on the losing side compared to Cody. Cody would excel in his studies and sports but it does not apply to Zack. It all started ever since Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) whereby his results was not as good as Cody’s and their parents started questioning Zack’s performance and compared it with Cody’s. Counselor is needed to help providing a purpose of the strategies being used and provide an overview about the strategies that will be used during the counselling session. Client has to agree with the informed consent given by the counselor and fulling understand the concept of an informed consent which includes the purpose of the treatment and the potential risks that might occur during the counselling session, so that client can avoid any risks and perform better in the sessions. The purpose of this strategy is to lessen client’s excessive thinking and beliefs. Counselor needs to help client to stop having negative mindset regarding about the situation and to improve himself rather than to ponder on the problems. This step is to allow client to think of the possibilities of both should be and could be to allow him to think about the outcome. Problem focuses center on the problem-solving goals of the client with the purpose of changing the problem and coping up for the future. Client is needed to focus on changing themselves and their mindset of things in order to change the problem occur at the moment. Counselor is needed to assist Zack in changing his mindset and to take it as a lesson rather than comparing and leading him to compete with his own twin brother due to what other people thinks of him. Other than that, there is emotion focused allows client to concentrate of their personal reactions towards the problem.
