Courtroom Players Response
The Courtroom Work Group is a group that is comprised of the judge, prosecutor, defense attorneys, claimants as well as the defendants. The roles of the individuals in the Courtroom Work Group are to work together to successfully prosecute in the criminal case. This group interacts on a daily basis with all having a mutual goal of production in mind to close the case. In my opinion a Courtroom Work Group is non-other than a group of people with authority who all come together and see how they can close this case without it actually going to trial. It is similar to the same process of deciding rather or not to offer someone a plea bargain. I say this because in the Courtroom Work Group the defendant are already presumed to be guilty and the rest of the group work together to come to an agreement on the sentencing rather than to actually serve justice.
The role of the prosecutor is to represent government or the interest of the community in a criminal trial. The prosecutor is responsible for deciding rather or not to try a case in the court of law or no to. Rather a case is tried in court is a decision that is solely based upon the prosecutors prosecutorial discretion. This decision is made once the prosecutor has examined all of the necessary evidence, if he deems it is sufficient he decides to try the case if not he will opt to dismiss it. The prosecutor is also the person who can make and offer a plea bargain or accept one that the defense attorney is offering. I believe if the process for taking cases was more stringent I think the state would waste a lot of money and time trying cases that they knew were not strong enough to build a case around. However I have to say the exact opposite of if the laws for prosecuting were less stringent because then I believe a lot of cases that may have been able to be solved based on a jury will not be heard because they will not choose to
