Creation Care Research Paper

Creation Care is the belief in mobilizing the church or churches and collectively caring for God’s creation of earth. Unlike other environmental groups out there, Creation Care seeks to properly take care of the earth even if and when there are not any disasters inflicting the earth at the time. They believe that even though it isn’t the only thing, it is an important part of being a Christian. They believe that plants, people and animals are dying because the human race is abusing and taking for granted God’s world that he left to us. The goal of Creation Care is “To see the global community of Christians accept the premise that caring for God’s creation is a core part of our identity. Love God! Love your neighbor! Love God’s world…”. They would love for everyone in society including the church would address and understand that the crisis in God’s world today in serious. Creation Care believers have been able to accomplish a few things for the environment.
In 2006 they started the Evangelical Climate Initiative which is a campaign to market information to help limit or stop global warming. The Evangelical Climate Initiative called for a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions in a statement that amassed over 200 signatures. They also teamed up with the Center for Health and the Global Environment at Harvard Medical School to help mitigate climate change. The Evangelical environmental Network has received a lot praise for lobbying with the United States Congress as well as producing not only educational, but also biblical information to be sent out to Christian congregations all over the
